The evening of Friday 28th June was very warm so the 100 + Spanish Culture and Cuisine members enjoying a get-together prior to the summer break retreated with their cava from the gardens of the Parador to sip it in the cool of the aircon inside! The evening commenced with everyone singing “Happy Birthday” to Christine Barber who was celebrating her birthday with so many friends and Christine was presented with a gift from group leaders Angela and Tony.
Angela gave a short presentation on the history of La Tuna, followed by dinner and then the arrival of La Tuna de Xabia. Everyone was enchanted by their performance and a lot of flag waving and singing took place during their rendition of Viva Espana!
