E-Bikes Group’s 9th ride

The E-Bike group’s ninth ride

The Javea U3A E-Bike Group held its ninth ride on Tuesday June 4 on what turned out to be a dry and sunny day, great for riding.

Riders cycled from El Port Cafe Cortado to Jesus Pobre and then on to Denia, where they were able to admire the statue, pictured, of a very different kind of rider!

The group has already attracted a total of 12 members and leader Phil Gauron welcomed Bill, Sue, Terry, Bob, Steve and Sue at Café Cortado for coffee and a 10.15am push-off.

One of the group’s objectives is to ride on minor roads and off-road tracks wherever possible and this ride achieved this. The group headed out of Javea Port following minor roads and cycle tracks to Camino de vell de Gata.

They arrived in Jesus Pobre and stopped at a lovely bar for coffee, where they relaxed and chatted about the ride before carrying on to Denia for a light meal and drink.

Then it was back to Jesus Pobre and on to Javea for a drink.

Everybody enjoyed the ride, having covered 43km. The next ride is planned for July 9.

If there is sufficient interest, the group will meet and seek out new rides in August or restart in September and perhaps increase rides to two a month. Email phil.gauron@gmail.com for more details.
