E-Bike Group’s eighth ride

The Javea U3A E-Bike group held its eighth ride – from El Port Café to Jesus Pobre – on Tuesday May 7, on what turned out to a dry and sunny day, great for riding.

The group has a total of 12 members and five of them joined the outing at Cafe Cortado in El Port, Javea at 9.45am for coffee. Group leader Philip Gauron welcomed Sue, Terry, Bob and Steve for a 10.15am push-off.
One of the group’s objectives is to ride on minor roads and off-road tracks wherever possible and this ride achieved this.
They headed out of Javea Port, following minor roads and cycle tracks to Camino del pla d’en Roca and onto Camino de Cabanes
Part of the ride covered approximately 200m of gravel and 300m of pebbles and riders were hanging on for dear life – “as Elvis would say, I’m All Shook Up”, reported Philip.

The group arrived in Jesus Pobre and headed towards a bar for coffee and beer. After relaxing and chatting about the ride, they returned a different way back, which would lead them to Camino de Cabanes and Camino del pla d’en Roca and then on to Javea for tapas and wine.

Everybody enjoyed the ride, having covered 30km.
The group’s next ride will be in June.

If there is sufficient interest, the group will ride and seek out new routes in July and August and restart in September with the possibility of two rides a month. For further details, email phil.gauron@gmail.com
