WAGS enjoy wine and dance!

Members of the Javea U3A Wine Appreciation Group (affectionately known as WAGS) got into the Christmas spirit at the November meeting – the last presentation of the year, at La Cocina Restaurant in the Port.

Forty-four members of the Wednesday group tasted five wines – a white, a rose and three reds – selected by presenters Ian Rogerson and Duncan Robson.

In a change from the usual format, the wines were chosen by Ian for their labels, depicting transport and travel, and were accompanied by appropriate jingles and jokes supplied by Duncan.

Members showed their appreciation by getting into the swing of things by singing along to the transport-themed songs and getting up and dancing!

Thanks to group leaders Trevor and Sally Rush for organising yet another successful meeting.

Trevor paid tribute to the restaurant owners, who have hosted the lunch-time group for the past 12 years and who are moving to bigger premises overlooking the sea in Javea at the end of the year.

Consequently, the group’s Christmas lunch in December will be the last get-together at La Cocina’s current premises, so keep an eye of the U3A website for details of future WAGS events.
