U3A Open Day at the Parador a great success!

As part of the U3A Jávea 20th Anniversary Celebrations, an Open Day was held at the Parador on Wednesday 26th.

Local Counciller, Señora Raquel Violero –  Responsible for Residents of the Third Age, including Health / Social Services & International Residents, accompanied by Señora Cristina Segura, responsible for RadarSeniors (part of Social Services for the Elderly), attended and were impressed with the range and number of Groups we have.

Groups represented at the Fair included :-

Travel & Culture: History, Music, Poetry, Travel & Spanish Culture and Cuisine

Outdoor Pursuits: Cycling, Gardening, Walking, History Trips, Petanque,

Indoor Pursuits: Cards (various Groups), Chess, Cribbage, Knitting, Dancing, Art, Board Games, Painting (various), Puzzles, Snooker, Quizzing

Food & Drink: Dining (various), Wine Appreciation

Education & Learning: Book Clubs, Family History, History, Jewellery making

And that was only 35 of the 46 Groups the U3A Javea have – the largest room in the Parador could not have held any more!

For a full list of those represented see the poster attached in the photos.

Our heartfelt thanks to all the Group Leaders who made this event possible, and who continue to be the beating heart of our organisation.

Claude Grealy,

President, on behalf of Mike Frost, Groups Coordinator and all the Committee.
