A packed audience of over 60 members were treated to a very interesting and informative talk by Diana Jarvis at the last Travellers Tales meeting. Diana enthralled everyone with an account of her travels, which included the terracotta warriors, “climbing” the Great Wall of China, on through Kazakstan, an overnight train to Shymkent, Uzbekistan, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and much more. Most of us in U3A belong to the Baby Boomer generation (born 1946–1964), influenced by post-war optimism, social mobility, the Vietnam War, and cultural rebellion.
