Travel Trip – Visit Alcoi

24 October 2025

A city approximately 2 hours inland from Javea with a rich architectural heritage.

Alcoi is famed for its fabulous Nouveau Art Deco architecture with emblematic bridges spanning ravines and rivers.

Soak up the local atmosphere and start your visit with a stroll and a coffee in the main square Placa de Dins (also known as Plaza de Espanya), encircled by the arches of the cloister of the Monastery of Saint Agustine. Many places to eat and drink in this beautiful square.

Guided Walking Tour

Our visit will include a guided walking tour, (English speaking) local guide, following the Modernist route, visiting key historical and cultural sites of Alcoi and lasting no more than 2.5 hours.

Much of what defines Alcoi today originates from its role during the Industrial Revolution in Spain. As a pioneering city in this transformative era, Alcoi experienced profound social change, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that has earned it a place on the European Modernist Route.

A walk through the city centre reveals this layered history—from medieval turrets to striking examples of modernist architecture that dot the urban landscape.

Eat & Drink

Alcoi offers a wide selection of tapas bars and restaurants where you can enjoy typical local dishes. You shouldn’t forget to try the locally made, traditional coffee liqueur.
