Last week, at your request, we published details of how you could donate to Cruz Roja and provide help to the victims of the DANA floods.
As well as donating your money, we know that many of you have given practical help to local charities and donated food, clothes and other items to rescue efforts organised here in our community.
Although money from your donations is still coming into the U3A Jávea bank account, we have today made an interim payment of €3,000 to the Cruz Roja in Jávea. This will be the first in a series of payments as the collection continues.

We know that many of our Groups have and will organise other fundraising events. For example, only yesterday we published details of a special Not Just Folk Music meeting on 7th December to raise money for the DANA victims – click HERE for more details.
Right across our local community, people are giving their time, skills and resources to help those affected by this tragedy. We were particularly touched by the efforts of local chefs who are cooking hot meals to send to the worst affected areas.
