A show of love and generosity in difficult times. This weekend, Octoberfest was scheduled to take place in the Placeta del Convent in Xàbia, but the tragic events caused by flooding in various municipalities in Valencia, and due to the official mourning, the events were suspended.
In the face of this tragedy, there have been signs of solidarity, a touching gesture of empathy. This comes from the El Convent Restaurant, located in the square, which has decided to help those in need. “All the food purchased for the occasion will be donated to those affected in Valencia,” said the owner’s sister, Ana Lillo, through social media.
The initiative seeks to take advantage of the restaurant’s resources, including food and materials, which will be transported in trucks from Excavaciones Alfonso López, who have been contributing for days with water deliveries. On this occasion, paella pans and provisions will travel with the trucks, with which sandwiches will be prepared and food will be shared.
But the help does not stop there. Ana also reported that, in addition to food, basic necessities for the little ones are being collected: baby food, formula milk and other essential products for babies.
Lillo is calling on citizens: “Anyone in the community who wants to help can bring their donations to the El Convent Restaurant tomorrow, Saturday, as the solidarity convoy will leave for Valencia in the early hours of Sunday.”
Without a doubt, a great gesture of humanity and solidarity.
