U3A Javea members and guests turned out in their finery and danced the night away as the popular annual ball returned after the pandemic!
The glittering event – for years an annual favourite in the U3A calendar – proved a winner again not only for those enjoying the dinner-dance at Salones Carrasco, but for the U3A’s charity of the year. The raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses as well as members, raised more than 1,550 euros for Todos Juntos Javea. The money included 250 euros raised from bids for a painting by the late local artist Tony Creasey.
It was fitting that the successful bid was made by U3A Vice-President Krystyna Stefancyzk, who was the brainchild behind the September Ball and who had put so much hard work into its organisation together with the committee and a number of willing volunteers.
The OK Band, who provided the music at the event, also donated their fee to the charity.
