After the virtual approach of last month, Shutterbugs were back to meeting together. Due to some health & travel issues we were a bit thin on the ground with only four in attendance. Even so we had a great meeting with those away voting for their favourite picture of the month.
The ultimate winner was Kevin McLoughlin who took this wonderful capture based on our Night Time Street Photography project. Kevin’s picture was felt to be of superb clarity with the position of both the man on the left and the one on the right drawing you into the setting to the lady serving. Congratulations, Kevin!
We then went on to discuss the next project set by Debbie Wenn: “my choice of “subject” for the next project will be dramatic skies/weather as we’ve had some lovely cloud formations, torrential rain etc…. I don’t think a tutorial video is necessary, it’s a challenge I think because you’re in the moment and have to know the lighting around you and the fact the scene can change in minutes”.
Mal found a video (link at the bottom of the mail) which was shown that presented several options for the project. It was felt helpful by all. Some suggestions were discussed for 2025; Practical sessions both at the venue and outdoors, Guest photographers, Inter group competitions. All sounds good.
It was also decided that the group wouldn’t meet in December as a lot of people are away etc. Instead the next meeting will be 17thJanuary 2025 from 2.00-3.30pm at Javea International Baptist Church Centre, Calle de Favara 8, Javea 03730.
All photos should be submitted by Wednesday 15th January 2025. They will be anonymised, loaded to Dropbox and sent out.
