U3AJavea.com collects the data submitted by you to the website in order to provide you with the information or service that you have requested.
This means that we may hold your email address and name and any message that you have sent us, in order to be able to reply. That information is then kept for us to be able to make sure that any future request from you is dealt with efficiently.
When you pay your membership fee or make any other purchase, your card information is not seen by our website – a window opens that connects you directly with the secure PayPal payment system. PayPal’s privacy policies can be accessed here https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full
The only information retained by the website, on any purchase, is that required to process your order and to provide evidence of what has been purchased (such as membership), in order to ensure we can resolve any subsequent Customer Service issues.
As an active and large association, the committee member tasked with processing your request may use an international email service such as Gmail or Hotmail to communicate with you. Both these services are committed to full compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Unless the service you have booked clearly states that specific information is required to book with an external service (for example a special menu request for a restaurant or a ticket for a trip) no information that you have provided will be shared with any third party.
The information is only kept for as long as you are a member and/or it is required to comply with U3A Javea’s legal auditing requirements.
You can see what information is held by the website about you and your activity by allowing the site to send you an email to the email address that you have used previously to interact with us via the site. The email you receive will give you a link to a secure page where you can see what, if any, information we hold about you.
A Link to the Data Request Form will be added here shortly
