Dear Friends,
One year ago, we launched our Member Support Network, with the intention of assisting those who suddenly found themselves in a difficult or vulnerable situation, and being unsure where to turn, whom to ask, or how to find help.
Since then, we have helped the families of those in hospital, those coming out of hospital, those lacking Spanish or unsure of the health ‘system’, and those simply wondering where they might find help.
As we have worked, with each new issue we encountered, we ourselves have learned much, and found many wonderful people and organisations who are semi-invisible to those fortunate enough not to require their help – yet! So, we have expanded and broadened our services/ability to assist.
At the upcoming meeting we will have a talk from:
- Mrs Candida Wright MBE, President of HELP of Marina Alta, on what support her organisation offers
- Representatives of RADAR Seniors, who encourage people to watch out for their vulnerable neighbours
- Also Ms Jacqui Phillips MBE, President of MABS Cancer Care Services
- Mrs Lyn Baerfuss, founder of The Weary Warriors Dementia Support Group
- Mr Arne Soeten, founder of Project4all (who amongst other things run a women’s refuge)
- And representatives of Todos Juntos Jávea
Will all be present to contribute and answer questions.
I shall speak about the overall aim of the Network, and our full Organising Team will also be there.
We all look forward to seeing you there. Registration will open tomorrow.
