New SC&C tour: Discovering Culla – Templars, truffles & traditional farmhouse life

Friday 7th – Sunday 9th November 2025

Culla has been described as one of “the most beautiful villages in Spain”, an historic village that is full of charm and named a Site of Cultural Interest. The picturesque streets transport the visitor back in time, with most of the sights connected to the legacy of the Knights Templar. The region is also known for the cultivation of the black truffle (Tuber Melanosporum) , which is harvested from early November to the end of March. We will have a unique experience guided by Daniel, a resident of Culla, farmer, and livestock breeder, who will explain everything related to truffles and plantations, including land preparation, holm oak planting, care, nest preparation, and truffle harvesting.

We will also visit Mas de la Mezquita, built in 1700 and preserved in its original state, where we will be transported back in time as you explore the stone buildings and discover what life was like back then.

AND MUCH MORE!

It will be a small group tour, with 24 members max, as we will be using all of the 12 twin/double rooms in a family-run rural hotel (rooms are for sharers, I regret no singles on this occasion) on a half-board basis with dinner & breakfast included. The 3* Hotel De Montaña Novella has rooms with tv, Wi-Fi access, and ensuite bathrooms with bathtubs and toiletries. There is a bar, an outdoor terrace, and a restaurant which serves traditional local dishes. The hotel has a high rating from Booking.com: “9.1 Exceptional”.

Further details will be published soon. If you would like to receive a copy of the programme when available, please send an email to the group leader, Angela Chantry:
