Casa De Cultura, Javea – see below for location details
What a treat we have in store for members at this meeting!
Our very own Peter Atkinson will be talking about the well known artist Bansky, a man whose identity is still a mystery.
We have all heard about Banksy, who started off as a graffiti artist, and therefore scorned for defacing buildings, but over the last 25 years he has progressed from vandal to superstar whose works have to be protected from other vandalism and theft because of their value.
Not only is Banksy a street artist he is also studio artist, social commentator, activist, philanthropist, and movie director.
Peter will follow Banksy’s progression, showing much of his work in Britain and abroad. (For a fuller synopsis, click here)
Directions to the Casa de Cultura, Plaza de Baix in the centre of the old town.
From the church, go down the steps beside the Tourist Office and into the plaza, look left and the Casa is at the end facing you. The theatre is the most comfortable venue in town but there are no food or beverage facilities. However, there are bars in and around the plaza, including the popular Bar Imperial.
