Tuesday October 21st at 3pm “Using Maps in Family History”
Keith Smith presented on using maps in family history in general and then walked us through how to use the National Library of Scotland map system (not just for Scotland!). Keith meticulously, and very clearly, explained the opportunities afforded by the wealth of map information available on the internet.
Keith then talked us through his personal system of record-keeping, developed over the eight years he has been researching his own family tree.
The members of the Family History Group sat spellbound for over 2 hours as Keith shared his extensive knowledge with us. As a small reward for the huge amount of work Keith had clearly put into his presentation he was presented with a token of our thanks (photo below).
