We will have our monthly discussion meeting on Friday 22nd of March, not the usual last Friday of the month because of the coming fiestas.

By the way, do you know that in all our areas starting with Oliva and Val de Pop and finishing with Calpe and U3A Marina Baixa (covers Altea and 8 villages to the south of Calpe) U3A Javea is the only one which has a Discussion group?

The discussion group’s main features are while it is not formal there is an agenda and structure, participants freely present ideas and perspectives to persuade others of their viewpoints, but at the same time are open to different opinions and even change them. The most important thing is openness, learning and understanding, only then both sides benefit from the exchange.

But this time we will talk about the situation in Gaza and Israel’s war with Hamas, a hot topic at the present. Talk is not a discussion, it is an informal exchange of thoughts, conversations and contemplations without a specific agenda or plan.

So our next meeting can be a free flow of our thoughts, reflections and views or it may turn into more than that. We don’t know yet.
