Getaway Guided Walk: Salem circular route, Safor area.

The first Getaway Guided Walk for 2026 will be on Saturday 24th January. The circular walk proposed will be of 2 – 2½ hrs duration, close to Salem in the Safor area, which is about an hour’s drive from Javea. This will be a guided walk (easy/moderate) with an elevation of no more than 250 m.

Following the walk we will have lunch, with drinks included, at the Casa Granja San Miguel, Salem – a restaurant which I used in January last year for members who joined the Alcoi’s Artisanal Aperitifs tour, which proved to be very enjoyable with good food and service from the owner.

Programme
08.45 hrs: Departure from Golden Star Apartments, Calle Bruselas, Arenal
09.00 hrs: Departure from Interiors (opposite side of the road), Javea port
09.20 hrs: Pickup at Mas y Mas, N332 (if required).
10.15 hrs: Drop off at a café/bar near the start of the route.
11.00 hrs: Guided walk.
13.30 hrs: Lunch
15.45 hrs: Reboard our minibus for the return to Javea.
17.00 hrs: Approximate arrival back in Javea.

Please note that walkers undertake this activity at their own risk and the Javea U3A is not liable in any respect. It is your responsibility to look at the walk characteristics and ensure that you are capable of doing the walk. Appropriate footwear is required; if you normally use a walking stick, remember to bring it with you, along with water, sunscreen, and hat (according to weather conditions for the walk).
