Last Friday of the month, 29th March, we will hold the Discussion group meeting and expect provocative conversation where we’ll explore one of the most fundamental questions of our time:
Are we kidding ourselves with talk of values, purpose, and ethics, while everything quietly bends to the logic of profit?
Are corporations really just profit machines, or is there a hidden layer of values, psychology, and power at play?
There are some questions to look deeper:
- Is money still the ultimate motivator behind most decisions — from personal careers to global politics?
- Do corporations innovate for the greater good… or just to squeeze out the next quarter’s profits?
- Are our own choices really about passion and meaning — or are we just navigating a system designed to reward compliance and consumption?
- What happens when status, fear, security, and social pressure enter the equation?
If money isn’t the only force — what else is strong enough to compete with it?
Power? Ego? Belonging? Ideology? Love? Fear of failure? What do you think?
