Departing by coach from Javea Bus Station at 8.40 and opposite Interiors at 09:00. Back in Javea approximately 17:30.
Lots to see and do in Alicante: museum’s, marinas, castles, churches as well as the food markets and lovely shops.
- Gravina Museum of Fine Arts (MUBAG) has an exhibition devoted to Salvadore Dali (free)
- Contemporary Arts Museum of Alicante (MACA) is full of modern day art and sculpture (free).
- Basilica de Santa Maria de Alicante is a 14C church famed for its rococo main alter built on the site of an Arab mosque. 5€ entrance charge
- Calle de Setas is a fantasy wonderland of mushroom and toadstool sculptures.
- The Central Indoor Market is famous for its fabulous food stalls but also a poignant memorial to the 300 people killed in an air attack during the Spanish Civil War. The tragic event is commemorated in a mural inside the building.
All located within easy walking distance of each other.
For those who prefer more general exploring there are narrow streets and plazas with local shops, bars and restaurants. Shopping is plentiful with all the well know chains plus El Cortes Ingles department store.
