We had a lovely sunny morning for our Coffee Morning in the Pensionistas Bar (Social Centre) in the Pueblo last Wednesday.
Everyone enjoyed a complimentary refreshment and had a nice chat with old friends before Frances Love from MABS (Marina Alta Breast Screening) gave us a short presentation about their incredible work for those affected by cancer (all types – not just breast cancer).
MABS collected over 700,000 euros last year and their 345 volunteers turned that into 3,864 hours of respite care, 2,344 medical translations, free transportation to 540 hospital appointments, 318 post treatment therapy sessions, etc. etc. etc. – too many things to report here – but have a look at the photos of their stand attached for more detail.
But they still need more help, especially with fundraising. Speaking of that we raised almost 200 euro in raffle ticket sales for them at the Coffee Morning – thank you everyone – Good People !
