Javea U3A’s first occasional Coffee Morning proved a successful new venture as well as being a big hit for charity.
Not only did it attract an encouraging turnout of members, a special collection in aid of the victims of the war in Ukraine raised more than 260 euros!
Attendees, including new recruits to the U3A, were able to meet other members over a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and chat to committee members.
Special congratulations go to Vice-President Claude Grealy and long-term member Brenda Bates, who between them came up with the idea and played a major part in making guests feel welcome.
The plan is to hold similar social events in the future.
The next big event is the U3A AGM to be held at the Parador hotel on Wednesday March 30 when the new executive committee will be elected.
