A very cheerful bunch of members joined the quarterly Coffee Morning at the Social Center in the Old Town, and enjoyed a lovely chat and catchup with friends.
The Committee were there to meet everybody and answer any questions.
The President welcomed some new members and thanked the new Gardening Group Leaders for keeping that wonderful group going. He reminded everyone that Peter Atkinson would give a talk on Lowry (the “Matchstick Men” painter) at our Quarterly General Meeting at the Casa de Cultura on Wednesday 25 October – info to follow.
Mike Frost spoke about the new “Sit and Chat” initiative, under the umbrella of the Members Support Network.
Claude Grealy spoke about the Marina Alta Arts Society talks being held in the Parador on the first Thursday of each month (details at www.theartssociety.org/marina-alta).
Margaret March did a collection for Make A Smile – more collections will be made for charity at our events leading up to Christmas.
Apart from that, everybody just had a good natter …….
The Committee looks forward to seeing you all again soon (dates for all upcoming Committee Sponsored events are posted under U3A Communications on the website). Next date to watch out for is that General Meeting and Presentation on 25 October.
The President & Committee.
