Former History Group leader and veteran U3A presenter, Peter Atkinson, returned from his new home in Canada and reminded us all what we have missed since he left Javea for Canada.
All three gentleman were born within 5 years of each other and knew each other well.
Peter took us through the lives and achievements of all three and in addition some of the interesting and famous figures they were intertwined with. As usual Peter´s presentation was well researched, flawlessly presented and was full of images which kept the large audience attentive throughout.
History Group Leader Keith Smith thanked Peter for his presentation, which Peter hopes will not be his last to the group, and reminded the audience that Peter will be presenting at the U3A General Meeting Friday 30th May when he will take us on a trip through the highlights of his 20 years presenting to the U3A.
History Group meets 2nd Tuesday of each month and our next presentation will be “The War Routes of Spain”, by David Ebsworth, one of our regular presenters and Spanish Civil War expert, who will take us through the battlefield tours organised by Franco from 1938.
