The game is called Cosmopolitan or Continental, which is a game like Gin Rummy, Remigio or Canasta, where the aim is to combine cards.
The leader Ian Foster is happy to teach newcomers how to play. The game is played with two packs of cards.

Hybrid Canasta – If you are familiar with the game of Canasta or other card games such as Partner Whist, Gin Rummy, Bridge, Uno, or other similar games then this tactical, tricky and fun game is for you.
At the moment, we’re not coaching absolute card beginners but, as long as you are a “card player” then it won’t take long to pick up the rules and learn how to play competively and tactically. Our group is very informal and friendly.
