The Mayor/Alcaldesa Rosa Cardona, and Raquel Violero, the Councillor/Concejala for Social Services and the Resident Expat Community, dropped in to Salones Carrasco on Friday morning to see our Fair. 33 of our Groups had a stand, along with Cancer Care Javea, Help of Marina Alta, The Weary Warriors, MABS Cancer Care and RadarSeniors from Social Services. The Amigos Europeos had an ambulance and multilingual crew on show outside. Lots of our members turned out, and it was a great opportunity to mingle and catch up.
The Alcaldesa was rightly impressed at the variety of activities on show, and we were all impressed with the quality of the stands – well done everyone! Turns out that many of the Group Leaders were already known to her, and many even managed to have a little chat in Spanish with her! And Raquel Violero got to practice her English. A report of the event was posted on the Ayuntamiento official Facebook page and now shared to our Facebook group.
The event also gave the Group Leaders a chance to meet some of our newer Group Leaders face-to-face.
Best ever show! Give yourselves a pat on the back everyone!
Maybe next year we will award a prize for the best stand?
