Talking Art – 24th February 2026

Bauhaus

The next meeting of the Talking Art group will be on Tuesday the 24th of February when we will be looking at the Bauhaus, the German art and design school founded by architect Walter Gropius that flourished in the Weimar Republic from 1919 until closed down in 1933 by the Nazi party. Many of its teachers and students moved to Britain and the United States where its theory and design philosophy influenced the teaching methods and appearance/look of modern art, architecture and design in the twentieth century, and in particular at the Black Mountain College, North Carolina, where Josef and Anni Albers went on to teach.

The meeting will be at the Javea Players’ Studio Theatre. Doors open at 10.30 for the meeting at 11.00 am. 2euros contribution towards hall rental.
