I was sitting in U3A group just after Christmas and overheard two people asking how their Christmas had been. They both said it was miserable, that they had been on their own and it was pouring with rain.
Thinking it over later I said to myself, we ought to try to make what is a difficult time of year, for some, a little easier.
I came up with idea of organising a Christmas Day lunch, which would be open to everyone, singles and couples.
This would bring people together who would not be strangers as such because they would all be members of the U3A Javea.
I found a volunteer to take on this job and that is Krystyna Stefanczyk.
We have block-booked Restaurante Plaza 6 with 44 places for the lunch time on Christmas Day, and now Krystyna needs to know who would be interested in joining her at this event.
We realise that all this is a long way away and lots can happen before then.
If you write to Krystyna now expressing an interest, this will give you first refusal in September when we firm up on the booking and ask for your money.
