Hay unas miembros que no tienen suficiente inglés para disfrutar bien de nuestro grupos dirigido en inglés. También hay muchos ingleses que quieren mejorar su español. Pero más importante es que tenemos que mejorar la conexión entre nosotros extranjeros y los del pueblo, particularmente con Servicios Sociales, RadarSeniors (ayuda para mayores) Cruz Roja, etc., para no perder ayuda.
Cada año los de Servicios Sociales y en particular RadarSeniors, nos invitan participar en sus programas de Envejecimiento Activo – pero pocos participan.
Para crear una puente entre nosotros (extranjeros) y el Pueblo yo propone enseñar una Grupo nuevo, el primero en el U3A Javea dirigido en español (con inglés de segundo).
Y que hacemos, esta grupo nuevo? Lo que los miembros de esto grupo quieren – encontrar para charlar, pintar, bailar, hacer clases de Intercambio, danzar, ir de comer, clases de cocinar, reuniones con Las Amas de Casa del Pueblo, Los Pensionistas……. Como quieras! Ustedes manda!
La Alcaldesa y el Concejal para Mayores y Extranjeros, van a estar en nuestras Dia Abierta en Salon Carrasco el dia viernes 27 Febrero, y quiero estrena este grupo ese mismo día.
Cuando vamos a encontrar? Cuando ustedes manda un correo a amistad@u3ajavea.com con el mensaje “Si, quiero participar” – nada mas!
Esperando que todos las Españolas y hablantes de Castellano van a estar conmigo en este projecto.

LAUNCH OF A NEW SPANISH GROUP – AMISTAD – NOTE: THIS GROUP WILL BE RUN IN SPANISH (CASTELLANO) or Bilingually as required).
It has come to my attention that some of our members do not have sufficient English to fully participate in our activities. Also I know that many of our members would like to improve their spoken spanish. But, more importantly, is that when Social Services invite us to participate in their Healthy Ageing Days, very few of us actually attend, even though we all may need these services.
In an effort to bridge the gap between us (English speaking expats) and the ‘Pueblo’ (Ayuntamiento / Social Services / RadarSeniors, etc) I am starting a new Group that will be run in Spanish primarily (by a spanish speaker) and English as required.
And what will this new Group do? Whatever the members of the group want – meeting for a chat; painting classes; dancing; Spanish/English intercambio; cooking; meeting the Amas de Casa in the Pueblo; meeting Los Pensionistas – whatever you want – but in Spanish first and English second.
The Mayoress and Councillor for the Elderly and ExPats will both attend our Groups Open Day on Friday 27 February in Salones Carrasco. I wish to launch the Group that day!
