It was a packed house for last Tuesday’s Travellers Tales meeting, with over 70 members attending the presentation given by Wendy & John Ranger: Sri Lanka, the Enchanted Isle. What an excellent presentation it was, as Wendy explained different facets of Sri Lanka’s culture and told us about the various places which they had visited, whilst John took control of the projection, showing some great photos which they had taken during the tour, including pics of John wearing a “skirt”!
The hotels which Wendy & John stayed in were in beautiful locations with stunning views, which they could also admire from their balconies whilst sipping on their sundowners of rum and coke – except when the monkeys decided to join them! Many delightful photos of wildlife which they had observed were included.
Wendy and John received a well-deserved round of applause, and Angela presented them with a bottle of wine, a little “thank you” for all of the work which they had clearly put into their PowerPoint presentation. A thank you also to Tom Stevenson, who kindly took photos for us at the meeting.
The next Travellers Tales will take place on Tuesday 18th November, when Angela will give a presentation on a recent cruise with her daughter, Becky: Canada in the Fall. Further details will be published nearer the time and if you would like to attend, please remember that an email is required to reserve your place, so that the correct number of chairs will be available on the day!
