Our annual ‘Thank You’ lunch for our unpaid volunteer Group Leaders was held in the beautiful Attico Restaurant on Friday as a small token of appreciation from the Committee and Members for all their hard work during the year. See photos below.
And speaking of ‘hard work’ ………
Flowers were presented by Mike Frost, our Groups Coordinator, to Amanda Jordan and Carole Clark (Travel Leaders) for their above and beyond efforts in assisting a member who had a medical emergency on one of their trips.
They had to stop the trip, call an ambulance, ferry the patient to the local hospital in a taxi (as the ambulance was too slow in arriving), contact the family, and stay put until they knew that his children were on a plane out. ……and THEN resume the trip!
Our sincerest thanks to them both from the Committee and ALL the members.
