We are planning a visit to the Centro de Arte Hortensia Herrero in Valencia.
The Centro houses a collection of national and international contemporary art in a variety of formats, painting, sculpture, multi-media, and includes works by David Hockney, Anish Kapoor, Mat Collishaw and Andreas Gursky.
Located in the heart of Valencia, in the old Jewish quarter, the Centro is a colourful, modern, vibrant gallery housed in a lovely restored building. Spacious and accessible it is easy to navigate over the five floors as there are lifts between each floor.
A visit around the gallery takes approximately 1 1/2 hours and it is possible to arrange for a guided tour. However, all the displays are well labelled in english and spanish, and each room has an english speaking attendant.
The gallery is in an area of Valencia well populated with restaurants and is only a few minutes walk from Plaza de la Reina and Cathedral of Valencia, Santo Caliz.
