ITINERARY:

Day 1 Javea – Zaragoza

Departure from Jávea (various pick ups TBA) in the direction of Zaragoza. Short stops en route.

Continuation of the journey and lunch on arrival at the 4 star hotel Zentral AVE (Click HERE for details). In the afternoon, we will visit Zaragoza City Centre with a local guide.

Zaragoza was the Capital of the Kingdom of Aragon during the Middle Ages, where we will see the famous Basilica del Pilar, from whose towers we will admire wonderful views of the city and the Ebro River, La Lonja, the Tapestry Museum, El Mirador del Batallador where you can find the Goya’s Corner, the Aljafería Palace (entrance included). Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 2 Monasterio de Piedra / Calatayud

Breakfast. In the morning excursion to the Monastery of Piedra (entrance included), located in the Natural Park of the same name, an ancient defence fortress against the Muslims and in times of the Reconquista.

The monastery was built in the years of transition from Romanesque to Gothic, with a predominance of the Cistercian Gothic style, which shows an austere and luminous architecture. Lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon we will visit the town of Calatayud, where the Arab, Jewish and Christian cultures coexist. We will see the preserved remains of five castles, amongst which the Castillo Mayor or Plaza de Armas stands out. In the historic quarter we can see the Mudejar towers, the Church of San Juan with paintings by Goya and the Church of San Pedro (entrance fees not included). Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 3 Ejea de los Caballeros / Sos del Rey Católico

Breakfast. In the morning departure to Ejea de los Caballeros. We will take a walk through its old quarter, which has two Romanesque churches: Santa María and El Salvador; and another Baroque church, the Virgen de la Oliva.

We continue to Sos del Rey Católico. Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, guided tour of the old town of Sos del Rey Católico. Highlights include the Church of San Esteban, the medieval market and a Renaissance palace, the Palacio Español de Niño. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

The price is From €568 depending upon the number of people that book the trip. There is a single supplement of €152.

  • Coach for transfers and excursions according to the itinerary described, departing from Jávea.
