Every year, the Royal Ballet in London put on some very special productions at the Royal Opera House.
Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella, created in 1948 and so the first full-length British ballet, is back. Its swooning Prokofiev score, full of sharp reminders that midnight is about to strike, is as entrancing as ever.
The Royal Ballet is one of the World’s finest ballet companies. Watching a live performance at the Royal Opera House is an amazing experience and, given that we’re in Spain, a logistically difficult and expensive experience.
But fear not! The Royal Opera House now broadcasts its famed Christmas show live to premium cinemas around the world. This year, you can enjoy Cinderella live at the IMF Cinema at the Portal de la Marina (Ondara shopping centre).
You shall go to the Ball
Stuck at home and put to work by her spoiled Step-Sisters, Cinderella’s life is dreary and dull. Everything changes when she helps a mysterious woman out…
With a little bit of magic, she is transported into an ethereal new world – one where fairies bring the gifts of the seasons, where pumpkins turn into carriages, and where true love awaits.
Choreography by Fredrick Ashton, the music of Prokofiev and a set design influenced by nature and flowers.
Cinderella is danced by Fumi Kaneko and the Prince by William Bracewell.
