The events of the last 48 hours have resulted in significant loss of life and serious damage to property in Valencia Province, Albacete and areas inland of Malaga.
As a consequence, the Spanish Government has declared 3 days of mourning across Spain.
We have already taken the decision to cancel the planned trip to Cocentaina due to the ongoing weather threat and in respect to those who have lost their lives.
Although our Groups may continue to meet over the next three days, all Group Leaders should carefully consider their meetings in the light of the 3 day mourning period. Obviously, some meeting venues may well close and make such decisions unnecessary.
Finally, please be aware that the threat from the DANA is not over. The AEMET forecast for the next 5 days includes heavy rain and storms, some of which may affect us here in the Marina Alta. Please take care when out in this dangerous weather.
