Javea U3A President Claude Grealy was delighted to receive a cheque for 450 euros from Spanish Culture & Cuisine group leaders Angela Chantry and Tony Dearie towards the Make A Smile charity collection.
The donation was handed over at Angela and Tony’s Travellers’ Tales meeting, the proceeds of money raised by members on SC&C trips during the year.
Claude said: “Make A Smile supports more than 100 children locally and the money collected will go to making their Christmas a little bit happier.
“Thank you Angela and Tony for taking the time to organise this collection, and to all members for their generosity.
“I thank you, the U3A executive committee thanks you – but most of all, the children will thank you.”
