A big thank you to Peter Atkinson for such a brilliant talk on 18 March. We were all in awe at how much research he had done to put together his most interesting talk about the first colonies of the USA….. some BEFORE the Mayflower! We all learned such a lot, including how the later new states were formed and why they got their names. Those settlers were, indeed, very brave!
We will look forward to more talks from Peter.
Next month is ‘The History of the Samurai’ given by John Hopwood. They were a fascinating group of warriors, with strict codes and similarities to the American Indian choice of victory trophies!
We have had a talk on Japan in Travellers Tales, and will have another, so will know a lot about the land of the Rising Sun. It is such an intriguing country…..as I found out by living there.
Put the date in your diary. April 22nd (a week earlier, as the studio has a play being performed on the last Friday in April)
