Overview
The Vice President (VP) is an integral part of the office of President.
The principle responsibility of the VP is to deputise and represent the President at public and U3A Javea meetings as, and when, required.
Also to work with the President in reviewing the organisations financial, management, social and communications strategies systems.
Tasks and Duties
- Oversee the organisation of the AGM, in conjunction with the President and Secretary.
- Oversee the organisation of the Quarterly General Meetings of members, with the Secretary, the Communications Officer and the Events Organiser. Attend these meetings where possible but particularly in the absence of the President.
- Represent the President at Executive Committee sponsored social events.
- Speak on behalf of the President and committee with regard to the death of a member, including writing to the deceased member’s family, etc.
Skills and Knowledge
- Good leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Working knowledge of use of email and other basic IT skills.
