Welcome to Jávea U3A Weight Loss Support Group

Struggling to get started — even though you know you’ll feel healthier and happier once you do? You’re not alone. A supportive group can make all the difference, helping you stay motivated through both the good weeks and the more challenging ones.

Special 6-Week Summer Programme – 18 June to 23 July
Why not join us for a focused 6-week “Feel Your Best by the End of July” programme before our summer recess? Whether you want to lose a few pounds, feel more comfortable in your summer clothes or simply develop healthier habits, this is a supportive way to get started.

We focus on realistic, individual goals — whether that’s dropping a dress or trouser size or losing 5–10% of your body weight. Safe, steady weight loss (around 1–2 lbs per week) is encouraged.

How it works

Goal setting
Set a personal, achievable goal with small weekly targets to help keep you on track.

Weekly weigh-ins
Private and confidential — only you and the group leader see your weight.

Tracking
Members are encouraged to monitor food intake and progress (many use the MyFitnessPal app) to better understand what works best for them.

Support & discussion
Sharing experiences, ideas and encouragement is at the heart of the group — participation is always at your own comfort level.

Thursdays, 18:00–19:00
Hosted in the Cansalades area of Jávea

The summer programme runs 18 June to 23 July, after which the group meetings recesses and restarts on 24 September. (weights can be sent weekly via the groups WhatsApp for those wanting to keep tracking)
