The U3A Photography Group aka Shutterbugs met on Friday, Jan 24th and welcomed a new member, Kevin Duck. We had a good turn-out with just a few members away due to other commitments.
There were 20 photographs entered for this month’s project which was Dramatic Skies/Weather. The quality of the pictures presented made it extremely hard to critique and subsequently vote for the favourite picture of the month. Eventually the picture (as shown) won the day.
It was taken by Meryl MacDonald who took this wonderful capture which catches the essence of stormy weather when we are stuck in and looking out of a window thinking – why? The rain on the window and the distorted picture is exactly what we see. Congratulations, Meryl!
We then went on to discuss the next project set by Kevin Mcloughlin. Kevin’s chosen subject is “Water; not in the abstract sense but as part of a Landscape, as described in the attached video. I’m thinking more of coastal, lake or river scenes”. The group then discussed an outing for February which was suggested by Kevin. The date has to be set but the aim is to spend a morning at Pego Nature Reserve.
There is plenty of water there at present so perfect for February’s project. It was also decided that one member per month would tell the group what they have enjoyed photographing during the month with accompanying pictures.
