Mallorca – a trip to remember!

50 happy travellers, guided gently by the ever patient and pleasant Tour Leader Amanda Jordan, arrived in Denia port last Tuesday afternoon for the ferry to Mallorca.

Little did we imagine that we were going to the Arenal! Could there be more than one?

Yes! A beautiful 5km long stretch of beach running around the bay from the capital of Palma de Mallorca.

And what a beautiful city Palma was for a day trip from our beach retreat.

But no shortage of day trips – the Caves of Drach, Soller, Alcudia, and Mallorca’s aquarium, and lovely weather to enjoy it all.

We had to go on day trips just to get out of the hotel dining room.   Three all-you-can-eat meals a day.  Wine on tap.  Steak, paella, turkey, fish, chicken, estofada, pork, moussaka, curry – and that’s only the main courses I can remember.

The hotel asked us to complete a restaurant satisfaction questionnaire, but I had to say that they should restrict desserts to one per guest; or occasionally two; or in extreme cases of gluttony three – but never ever four – not even for El Presidente’s wife – especially not for her!

Music in the bar later, and Bob did his bit too.

Then back on the ferry after 6 nights – and nobody lost overboard along the way!

Home – exhausted – a kilo heavier.  Now, where’s my fat pants?

Where to next Amanda?
