Last Friday the 30th we celebrated a “Thank-You” lunch in Attico for our wonderful Group Leaders, as a very small token of our appreciation of the enormous effort they put in all through the year. The President, Vice-President, Membership Secretary, Treasurer and Secretary, were in attendance, along with the Webmaster Peter Bayliss, and Web Updater Tom Stevenson.
The President, Claude thanked them all, acknowledging that a simple lunch was only a token that could not compensate for a year long of work. Our groups are the core of what the U3A is, and without them we are gone. Members do appreciate their efforts, even if sometimes slow to say it!
Unfortunately our Groups Coordinator, Mike Frost, could not attend due to family matters. However, Luz, the Manager of the restaurant, produced two 3 course meals for take-away, to be delivered to Mike and his wife Katrina. Everyone present wished Katrina and Mike the best and look forward to seeing them back again soon.
