Getaway Guided Walk: Alicante coastal route, chosen as the Trail of the Year 2025 in the Valencia region

A path along the Mediterranean,from beginning to end

The next Getaway Guided Walk will be a beautiful route along the Alicante coast, chosen as the Trail of the Year 2025 in the Valencian Community. The trail offers a continuous seaside experience with open views of the Mediterranean, going along seafront promenades, coastal paths, wooden walkways and sections developed as footpaths, following the coastline.

In order to have the sun behind us and to make the route shorter, we will do the trail in reverse, starting at Cala de la Lombriz near the Torre de la Horadada, and finishing at the Surfers Bar & Grill, Playa Flamenca.

Difficulty: Easy, flat walk of approximately 11 kms/2hrs 45 mins. (including time for photos).

IMPORTANT

Although this is an easy walk in terms of flatness, please do not make a reservation unless you are certain that you can walk this distance at a relatively good pace in order to keep the group together and to arrive at the restaurant on time for lunch.

Programme

08.15 hrs: Departure from Golden Star Apartments, Jávea Arenal.

08.30 hrs: Departure from Interiors (opposite side of the road), Jávea port.

08.50 hrs: Pick up at Mas y Mas on the N332 if required.

10.30 hrs: Arrival at Manola’s Bar, Cala de la Lombriz. Refreshment break.

11.00 hrs: Commence the route and after a very short walk, we will come to the Roman Quarries of Mil Palmeras, which are open-air quarries on the first line of the coast, at the foot of the beach. There are indications that the stones from these quarries were used in the construction of the Via Augusta.

We will cross over the River Seco and continue along the route which will take us past several Playas.

14.00 hrs: Lunch at the Surfers Bar & Grill, Playa (or similar).

16.00 hrs: Re-board our coach for the return journey to Javea.

18.00 hrs:: Approximate arrival time in Jávea.

NOTE Please be aware that it is your responsibility to look at the walk characteristics and ensure that you are capable of doing the walk. Members participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own medical cover.

If you subsequently need to cancel, refunds can only be made if your reservatin is taking over by another member.
