AI: Who Wins the Race — and What Kind of World Does It Create? 

On the 25th September, the last Friday of the month, the Discussion group will meet again after the summer break between 4 pm and 6 pm at the usual place, Javea Social Centre, Plaza Constitución. The topic will be about AI, Superintelligence, and the Security Dilemma.

Besides today’s AI challenges and problems in the future, we will talk about things we are already beginning to experience:

• • Trust: How will we know what is real and what is AI-generated?
  • Work: Which jobs and activities are likely to change next
  • Information: What happens when creating convincing false material becomes extremely easy?
  • Relationships: Why might people develop relationships with AI companions or advisers?
  • Education: What happens when AI can write, explain and research for us?
  • Human skills: What will we stop learning or doing ourselves because AI can do it more easily?
  • Power: Could control of advanced AI give a small number of companies or governments extraordinary influence?
  • Daily life: Which changes are likely to affect ordinary people first?

It is promising to be an interesting and very topical discussion.
