We enjoyed a fun filled afternoon with everyone. It was a delight to see lots of smiling faces again after a long and hot Summer break.
The wine theme this month took us all to Haro situated in the Rioja region and Martene Giles gave an excellent presentation of 5 wines.
We started with a smooth white Rioja Muga blanco 2025, which was followed by a fruity Viña Pomal 2025 blanco and then a fresh pale pink Muga rosado 2025.
We then moved to the reds.
The 1st was a young Kármán 2024 Garnacha & Tempranillo followed by an elegant and balanced Viña Pomal 2022 Tempranillo Crianza.
All wines were accompanied with freshly prepared dishes by Elizabeth and her team, finishing with cheese and crackers to pair with the Crianza.
To conclude the meeting, we were honoured as Elizabeth’s mama, the grand age of 94 years sang “Blessed Day” to Trevor and Yvonne who celebrated special birthdays during the Summer break.
Next month’s meeting will be on Thursday 1st October.
