Let me share with you the exciting plans History Group has lined up for this Autumn.
We host a History talk every month on the second Tuesday, held in the nice modern setting of Casa Cultura in the Old Town. It’s a great spot, and best of all, entry is absolutely free. The talks kick off at 11am sharp.
Our speakers are mostly fellow U3A members, just like you, who put a lot of effort into digging up fascinating stories. We don’t stick to one type of history, place, or era — there’s a bit of everything. And rest assured, these talks are far from the dull history lessons you might remember from school. We like to keep things lively and enjoyable.
Here’s what we’ve got planned for the season:
September 8th: Keith Smith on Football against the Nazis — the Death Match of Kyiv, 1942
October 13th: Duncan Petrie on Robert The Bruce
November 10th: Keith Smith returns with Scott of the Antarctic
December 8th: Angela Chantry on La Malinche and the fall of the Aztec Empire

Pop these dates in your diary if you fancy coming along to what’s surely the best free show in town, in the best venue around.
All U3A members are very welcome to join us.
If you would like to join our mailing list for reminders about our events send a mail to history@u3ajavea.com
Looking forward to seeing you all again!
