Monday 2nd November at the Bombas Gens Centre d’Art Digitals
The actual dates for the Exhibition have not yet been announced, hence the provisional date for the moment. As with the Titanic Immersive Exhibition which 50 of us visited in April at the same venue, we will have a lunch for the group in a nearby restaurant following the event. If you would like to be kept informed, please send an email to spanish.culture.cuisine@gmail.com and I will send you a copy of the programme when finalized. Group leader: Angela Chantry

The exhibition will arrive in Valencia for the first time in October 2026. The experience invites visitors to immerse themselves in a sensory recreation of the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, one of the most impactful events in human history. Using cutting-edge technology, the public will explore its streets, access iconic spaces like the Villa of the Mysteries, and witness key scenes from daily life, from gladiatorial combat to naval battles and the moment of the eruption that sealed its fate. The tour combines immersive 360-degree projections, VR360° virtual reality experiences, metaverse environments, interactive spaces, and the display of historical objects, real artifacts, and reproductions that recreate the tragedy in detail. It includes replicas of bodies that show the dramatic final moments of some of its inhabitants, adding a particularly impactful dimension to the experience.

Created by Madrid Artes Digitales (MAD), the exhibition offers a direct journey to Roman Pompeii, digitally reconstructed to show what life was like before the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The production, which covers more than 2,000 square meters, incorporates immersive projections, virtual reality, interactive spaces, and historical artifacts that allow visitors to understand the magnitude of the tragedy and the richness of Roman civilization.
