Leonard and Hungry Paul by Rónán Hession

If you love a book full of drama, nasty characters and a plot that leaves you gasping, avoid this book!
The central characters, beautifully portrayed by the author, were two friends living untroubled lives, unaffected by culture, fashion and lacking the desire to be one of the crowd. They were comfortable with their routines and happy in their own skins. They showed kindness and gentleness and had no competitive edge. Both Hungry Paul and Leonard gave us some real laugh out loud moments.
The novel is an ode to a quiet life well lived.
Definitely recommended as an easy read which, may, for some, be frustrating? Mostly we loved it.🥰
The author was shortlisted for best newcomer award by the Irish times not once but four times.
This book was produced as a series for the BBC and a follow up is planned. Narrated by Julia Roberts it is true to the book.
