Welcome to Jávea U3A Weight Loss Support Group

Struggling to get started — even though you know you’ll feel healthier and happier once you do? You’re not alone. A supportive group can make all the difference, helping you stay motivated through the good weeks and the challenging ones.

We focus on realistic, individual goals — whether that’s dropping a dress or trouser size or losing 5–10% of your body weight. Safe, steady weight loss (around 1–2lbs per week) is encouraged.

How it works

  • Goal setting: Set a personal, achievable two-month goal, with small weekly targets to keep you on track.
  • Weekly weigh-ins: Private and confidential — only you and the group leader see your weight.
  • Tracking: Members are encouraged to monitor food intake and progress (many use the MyFitnessPal app) to understand what works best for them.
  • Support & discussion: Sharing experiences and encouragement is at the heart of the group — participation is always at your comfort level.
