Their impact was such that the world of art shifted on its axis: all subsequent movements were influenced, and the \u201clook\u201d of the man made environment changed irrevocably. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From architecture to fashion, from graphic design to table mats, in addition to the art appearing on the walls of galleries, museums and private homes, colour became king and the drab world of the past confined to the dustbin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"738\" src=\"https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190-1024x738.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-36531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190-1024x738.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190-300x216.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190-768x553.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190-600x432.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/u3ajavea.com\/info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/IMG_2190.jpeg 1088w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The sixties, with its explosions of colour and emancipation, began in 1905 in a small fishing village in the south of France, when Henri Matisse and Andre Derain threw caution and muddy greys to the wind and drew fire and freedom from their canvasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robert Sedgley will give a presentation at the <strong>J\u00e1vea Players Studio at 11.00am on Tuesday 19th November<\/strong>.
